Shop Supervisor

Position Overview

This position requires a hands-on approach to supervising staff, managing inventory, and maintaining a high standard of customer service. The Shop Supervisor is responsible for fostering a positive shopping experience for customers while meeting sales targets and operational goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership:

Supervise and motivate store employees, providing guidance and support as needed.
Train new hires and ensure all staff members are well-informed about store policies and procedures.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members.

  • Customer Service:

Maintain a customer-centric environment by ensuring that all customers are greeted and assisted promptly.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and requests with professionalism and efficiency.
Train and encourage staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
Monitor and improve the overall shopping experience.

  • Inventory Management:

Oversee inventory control, including receiving, stocking, and replenishing merchandise.
Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to minimize shrinkage.
Place orders for new stock as needed and ensure proper stock rotation.
Monitor and manage product displays for attractiveness and optimal sales.

  • Sales and Financial Management:

Assist in setting sales targets and achieving sales goals.
Analyze sales data and customer trends to identify opportunities for growth.
Control operating expenses to meet budgetary constraints.
Ensure that cash handling and POS transactions are accurate and secure.

  • Security and Safety:

Ensure store security measures are in place and followed, including surveillance systems and theft prevention protocols.
Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers by enforcing safety standards.

  • Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and guidelines, including those related to product safety and employee rights.
Assist in the implementation of loss prevention measures.

Requirements:
  • Previous retail experience, with at least 1-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
